Fight For Freedom part 4

Soon it was dawn and she creeped up to the dragon's lair. The smell of sulphuric breath was unbearable and she slidded away from the entrance, unable to enter. She would lurk until the monster came out of the cave, and then she would attack with her shard of blade and the strength of her determination.
Would it be enough? Would her will be able to break the hold he could put over her? She pushed the doubts from her mind and plunged into the putric smelling cave, determined to kill her adversary.

There lay the dragon, in its sleep it was but a dimuntive size, no larger than a human male. She crept around it's bedding, watching it with curiosity at the change in size. Was this the real dragon, this green, wrinkled and scaley lizard the length of a mere man? She smiled at the idiocy of the situation. Hadn't she come into this cave with the determination to kill a humungous beast? Here in front of her lay this imitation of her enemy.

Maybe it was just another ilsuion to scare his enemies, his captives into submission. She did not doubt his fiery breath but she did doubt his appearances and the strength of it. She remembered the first manifestation of the dragon's, a small child inside the golden cage. Yes, if he had been able to manifest something like that then he was able to manifest his own body. She did not doubt now that he had a mental power beyond what was reasonable, but she still knew she could beat him.
