Experimenting with Tracy Anderson
I was given, not unkindly, a Tracy Anderson book with DVD. I've never tried anything like it, and was quite curious to read it. Tracy Anderson claims to be able to give you a dancers body, no matter what shape god gave you. After having read the beginning and having looked at the diet plan I thought, "Giminy cricket, how am I going to afford all of that? How I'm ever going to pay for fresh strawberries in Norway in autumn?" So I wondered if there was a way around the luxurious and typical LA diet plan(i.e, perfectly easy to follow in a balmy environment with fresh fruit readily available all year around) so I did what I always do in these situations... I googled! Thank goodness for the internet, what I found was that although the price wasn't the first thing most others thought about, there were others concerned about the diet plan. Mostly the fiercely low amounts of calories it contained, I'm sure ms. Tracy would be able to clarify but from the articles I've read it seems to be that you have to exist on 700 cal. per day. Any doctor will tell you that if you ate like that you'd be considered anorexic. My lifestyle would not be possible on a mere 700 cal. per day, I'd faint. However, the exercises contained in the book are very interesting, and so I've come to the conclusion that where I will not be eating the diet plan as specified in the book I am interested in doing the cardio and mat exercises she stipulates. I'd just like to state that I DO NOT EXPECT to lose as much weight as I would do if I followed the diet plan as well. However I have decided that week beginning the 17th of October I will be doing an hour of exercise per day with Ms Tracy's combination mat work out and cardio. I will perform as if before an audience and with hard work and determination by the 17th of November I will hopefully be a size or even a few sizes smaller.
I thought it may be interesting to write about my experiences over the next four weeks. Giving myself a place to express my thoughts on this journey and at the same time giving (hopefully) a window for others who have wondered the same thing as I have about the 30 Day Method. I will post a before body shot and then a weekly photo of my body over the next four weeks. Nothing outrageous, not too much flesh, I don't want to titelate or disgusts but a fairly good overview of my size so you can see my progress. I will also be horribly honest, no excuses, if I haven't done a full 7 hours a week I will say so and explain my lack of motivation. My results will reflect my discipline or lack of it, no rose coloured glasses. Comment if you like. Wish me luck!
