Emigrating

So hey peeps. I'm here today to talk a little about moving to a different country. Yes, it sounds boring but one of the most scary things you can do. Moving to a different country where you don't understand the language or the culture that surrounds you.

I've done this twice now, and the first time was the scariest. Since I moved to southern spain, which compared to Great Britain is like another Universe. The language is different, hardly anyone speaks english and the culture is their proudest resource. Everyone who ever thinks of Spain thinks of Flamenco dancing and Paella, both which were stolen from the gypsy culture.... although don't tell a spaniard that!

When I first arrived in Spain I couldn't say anything at ALL! I learned from a dictionary and the little of my high school spanish that I could remember. Thankfully I had some GREAT spanish friends who basically led me around for the first year of my life there. Finally I could say something and got work teaching English to Spanish people, mostly children. If anyone has been a fan of this site, they'll know how I feel about that topic!

I think that was the hardest thing I've ever done, and moving to Sweden was MUCH easier! Thankfully almost everyone speaks English and the culture is just easier to get into, since it's not much different from my own home grown culture! No stumbling blocks to worry about! Phhhewww!

Still I'm sure that I will take some great experiences and lessons from my time here, when and if I ever leave. Right now it's an open ended decision! Like most things in life this is only the beginning of my adventure here. From me that's all for now
Over and out.
